Within the ‘Enhancing women and youth’s election participation’ project, supported by the Asian Foundation and IRI, ‘My Participation – Mini Hackathon’ was successfully implemented. In facilitating youth election participation, it is vital for youth to reflect their opinions and voices, and thus by being a part of the Hackathon, the participants were given opportunities to promote new initiatives, introduce new ideas and even turn them into practical projects.
Furthermore, in 2016, only 50% of young registered voters aged between 18-25 voted in the parliamentary election according to statistics. Hence, in order to determine the driving factors behind youth election turnout, the Zorig Foundation has surveyed 680 young voters aged between 18-25.
